The traditional method for making stained glass uses lead came, long strips of lead shaped into an H or a U (for outside borders).
Most of our work is completed in the Tiffany style copper foil technique. Generally speaking, copper foil is best for irregularly shaped pieces, whereas geometric shapes are better suited to lead. As we grow in our skill set we continue to enjoy the challenges stained glass presents.

"Dragon Shield" JBeez original design.
Having been fascinated by stained glass and dragonlore it is inevitable the two would eventually intertwine. We were gifted with some stunning iridescent vintage black artisan glass and this design came into being. It was very little glass, each piece had to count, could not afford ANY mistakes. Copper foil stained glass technique with a cool ladder chain evocative of the dragon scales around the frame. Approx. 13 1/2 wide x 23 inches tall Drachen Sciath is ready to hang.
This piece is SOLD, please contact us if interested in your own custom artwork.

A commission from a lovely woman from Canada, from a piece of art given to her husband by a student. What a challenge! Another project trying to get the image from my head to glass!
Testimonial... Judy Bludworth is a rare gem! I first saw her work on an Irish & Scottish Clan Facebook page and was wowed. I wondered, "Will this talented woman make me a stain glass window of my two favorite wolves?" I messaged Judy, we text chatted, she outlined her ideas, and within a few months, Hantaywee moved from Knoxville, TN to Sidney, BC! Hantaywee is over 180 pieces of carefully cut and placed colored glass - soldered, patina'd, scrubbed, and polished - a masterpiece by Judy. Everytime I see the wolves' glass, green, emerald eyes twinkle, as the sun's rays enter our kitchen window, I whisper, "Wow!" I highly recommend Judy Bludworth. She possesses amazing, artistic abilities and insightful, imaginative instincts. She also has a pragmatic and practical side which made our international, fragile purchase, a safe, Fed Ex, PayPal transaction. Glen and I love Hantaywee. Symbolically for us, the two wolves unite our countries, Canada and the USA. They also bring love and protection to our home in Sidney, BC. Canadian born, Juhli, and her American born husband, Glen White
Notice how the light changes the stained glass...striking. Our fascination with color, light and opacity is clearly demonstrated in Hantaywee..Thank you Juhli and Glen for your support and patience!

This handsome piece, A Justin Bernke pattern, now resides in Judy's kitchen. Love the traditional coloration of a Blue Copper Maran (ish)
This picture was taken before framing.
I loved working on this piece, if you have a different color story (Rhode Island Red for example) you want to tell let us know!
We are drawn to crosses, Jaybee loves dragonflies. I drew this simple design, intending the glass to tell the story.......
After Tess saw the design she commissioned a piece..with a trust I will forever treasure that we would get the colors right. Glass has many elements to consider for us; color, texture, opacity and the light just to name a few.
These pictures Tess took perfectly capture the elements we so love about stained glass.
Tess does beautiful work - you can find her on www.everydayphotos.org
Just got a new ring saw, had to try something new! This piece was fun, the glass was BEAUTIFUL, the camera doesn't do it justice
First and LAST lead class.....but we loved this glass!

A good friend gifted me with pony bead Bouviers - a process in which acrylic colored pony beads are heated and designs/embellishments are embedded. In a Mad Max session in the she shed a stained glass panel was made, different types of plastic/stone beads assembled to created the final mobile.

This black Bouvier des Flandres memorium, now in Washington, hangs in a window in commemoration of Raina. As this piece catches the evening sunset one can see why we prefer using artisan glass.......
